Founded in 1892, Kakuman Lacquerware is the oldest surviving Ryukyu lacquerware studio in Okinawa. Carrying forward over a century of traditional craftsmanship originally developed during the Ryukyu Kingdom, Kakuman crafts timeless, high-quality tableware, decorative pieces, and modern lacquer goods. Beyond production, Kakuman is dedicated to preserving Okinawan cultural heritage by hosting workshops, educational events, and running an integrated gallery cafe to make traditional crafts accessible to future generations.
