Created by ceramic artist Sakae Matsumoto, this handcrafted plate incorporates reclaimed Okinawan materials, including locally sourced karuishi (pumice stone) and recycled glass. Each piece is individually thrown and finished using traditional and contemporary ceramic techniques, making every plate unique.
Design
The textured dark exterior recalls Okinawa's volcanic rock and coral coastline, while the interior features a flowing seafoam blue glaze with crystalline details inspired by the island's surrounding ocean.
