Unique Piece Notice: This item is an authenticated, one-of-a-kind work of art individually handcrafted in Japan. Once sold, this exact piece cannot be duplicated.

Artist & Inspiration

Glass artist Sasaki Shunji founded S glass studio in 2019 after training in some of Japan's leading glassmaking centers. This series is inspired by Sakiori, a traditional weaving technique from Japan's Tohoku region that transforms worn textiles into new fabric. Reimagining this philosophy in glass, Sasaki layers contrasting colors into a single vessel, giving new expression to a centuries-old craft tradition.

Design

The vase features a deep mahogany base flowing with shades of cobalt blue, white, turquoise, and gold. Fine metallic particles are sealed within the glass, creating a luminous surface that changes beautifully with the light. Its rounded silhouette and polished finish highlight the remarkable clarity and depth of hand-blown studio glass.

Each piece is individually crafted and engraved on the base with the artist's signature. Natural variations in color, pattern, and form make every vessel unique.
