About this item

Description

Handcrafted in Okinawa, Japan, the Crimson Sun Art Tumbler celebrates the beauty of Ryukyu glass, a distinctive craft that emerged after World War II when local artisans transformed reclaimed glass into one of Okinawa's most celebrated artistic traditions. Unique Piece Notice: This item is an authenticated, one-of-a-kind work of art individually handcrafted in Japan. Once sold, this exact piece cannot be duplicated.

Heritage

Produced at Ryukyu Glass Village, this tumbler reflects generations of Okinawan glassmaking. The collection honors the work of Uehara Tokuzo, a recipient of Japan's prestigious Contemporary Master Craftsman (Gendai no Meiko) designation, recognized for his outstanding contribution to the development of authentic Ryukyu glass.

Design

Inspired by the vibrant colors of Okinawa's coastline, the tumbler features a rich crimson body accented with flowing shades of cobalt blue, emerald green, and golden yellow. Subtle metallic foil near the base adds depth and a gentle shimmer that changes beautifully with the light. Each tumbler is individually hand-blown and finished by skilled artisans. Natural variations in color, texture, and form make every piece unique.
