About this item

Description

Handcrafted in Okinawa, Japan, this authentic Ryukyu glass tumbler showcases the island's renowned glassmaking tradition, where skilled artisans transform molten glass into functional works of art. Created by Gendai no Meiko (Contemporary Master Craftsman) Matsuda Hideyoshi, each piece reflects the innovation and craftsmanship that define modern Okinawan glass.

Unique Piece Notice: This item is an authenticated, one-of-a-kind work of art individually handcrafted in Japan. Once sold, this exact piece cannot be duplicated.

Heritage

With over 40 years of experience, Matsuda Hideyoshi is celebrated for advancing the art of Ryukyu glass through expressive techniques and exceptional craftsmanship. Every tumbler is individually hand-blown, ensuring natural variations that make each piece unique.

Design

Inspired by the colors of the sea and night sky, the tumbler features swirling layers of translucent blue and soft white, highlighted with genuine gold leaf that shimmers beautifully in changing light. Delicate air bubbles suspended within the glass add depth and brilliance, while the gently flared shape offers both elegance and comfort in hand.
